2008 Ranger Apparel Now Available

In a moment of weakness due to an emotionally unstable day devoid of Tim Brannon's presence at Gio's, Rangers' head-honcho has announced that the team will finally don new uniforms in the upcoming 2008 season.

Evidently a distant-cousin of Matt Swary's jock, this new look for the Rangers will inevitably enhance the team's already prolific reputation for being the gayest bunch of drunks in the CMBA.
Every active Ranger has expressed some form of disdain to this announcement, at varying levels of disgust, except, inexplicably, Kevin Casey. To this point, Casey is the "Lone Ranger" to accept the change with open arms. Casey said, profoundly, "After a brief tenure back in California for the 2006 season, I was reminded how acceptable homoeroticism is in this day and age. It is a valuable sign of the changing times that we Rangers are so open with one another."
The Notre Dame University Graduate School of Business, in turn, rescinded Casey's admission in to the full-time MBA program. His academic records have been filed side-by-side with the Fab 5's lack-o-existence at the University of Michigan.
Isaiah Panatsis, the Rangers' emotional leader, had this to say: " ".
Profound.
No word yet on whether the new garb will be available for the winter meetings, or if CMBA commish Ron Markowicz will allow for such blatant disregard of the CMBA's standing uniform policy.

Mitchell Report Names 2 Chicago Rangers

A ex-trainer of the Chicago Rangers has reportedly leaked the names of 2 Rangers that will appear on the Mitchell Report today at 2:00 ET. According to the report, Rangers Chris Rivera and Matt Brooks will be amongst the names released as part of the Senator's investigation.

This news should come as no shock to anyone. These two ball players are perhaps 2 of the greatest physical specimens to ever don a Chicago Ranger uniform. Their rapid increase in size and offensive numbers can also possibly be explained now. In a game 2 seasons ago, the rage that steroids are known to produce came to head when the aforementioned pair were involved in an on-field skirmish with the Humboldt Park Red Sox in a game at Riis Park.

As part of the mandatory testing, all Rangers were required to submit a sample. According to court documents, Ranger slugger Isaiah Panatsis appears to be the only Ranger who did not submit a sample due to a "schedule conflict."

Chicago Rangers Offseason Plans!

GM and Team President Lucas Luecke has denied reports that the Chicago Rangers are close to signing Asian baseball sensation Kosuke Fukudome. "There is no truth to this rumor, at this time, the financial constraints set forth on this franchise preclude us from dedicating such a large percentage of payroll on one player" says Luecke. Fukudome is interested in playing in a major metropolitan area, and Chicago is right up his alley. The exposure he would receive from playing for a team in the area would be great, and any team that acquires him will have great media coverage, not only in the United states, but also in Japan. The signing of a marquee free agent could be just what the Rangers need after a successful 2007 season and could help propel them past the pesky Park Ridge Marlins in 2008!

Godfather Breaks Face

Chicago Ranger and Godfather of Loyola Baseball Kevin Casey recently broke his face playing intramural (probably co-ed) football. Experts agree that the hit put on Casey was probably the closest thing to real football that the University of Notre Dame has seen all season.

The former co-holder of the "Best Hair in 8th Grade" maintains that his hair was unscathed in the accident.
Casey has been listed as doubtful for the game this weekend against perennial intramural powerhouse "St. Martha All Girls Dorm Floor 7".

A Salvagable Effort

Although we did not meet our lofty, and most important team goal of drinking 350 pitchers of Jesus Juice, all was not lost this record breaking season. There are some things that we can salvage as we move forward towards next season. River was spotted on the drinking scene so often this year, we ALMOST forgot how much of a pussy he really is, and how small of a contribution he makes to the Rangers legendary drinking prowess. Secondly, due to the extreme intoxication that took place, several new Ranger "Secret" handshakes were invented, along with a laundry list of timeless quotes. We've had our ups and downs, 3 pitchers all the way to 30. We've seen men falling off bar stools and dancing to "Sunshine, Lollipops and Rainbows" like a bunch of teenage girls at a Justin Timberlake concert. We have shared in the glory of a demolished bathroom door and lived to tell the tale, all while Lucas danced around us half nude. Maybe next year he'll grow the huevos to bear it all. And who can forget the establishment of The Chuck Norris Choke Hold! Many a Ranger has fallen to its might. Here's to you Chuck, for making the life of a drunken Ranger that much more dangerous!

Soldier Field Tailgate for the Hawkeys

Hello all, and I am sorry that I was unable to be there yesterday, but I feel fortunate to have been a part of Ranger history and enjoyed my season with you guys! Even though I was not included on the Rookie email shout, I still am glad to have shared the field of battle with you, my brothers. I am working out my future contract with GM Lucas, and hopefully will come to terms on a long term deal.

As far as this weekend goes, if you dont have a place to be Saturday, I am hosting a tailgate at Soldier Field for the Hawkeye vs NIU game and would love to see you there for refreshment, food and lovely sporty ladies ready for Hot Rangers action. For you that are married, you can enjoy the view. RSVP to my email for details on the festivities, adamkubey@yahoo.com, or always join the facebook Rangers page!

Congrats on a Great Season!

While it is dissapointed that we did not overtake the Marlins, it was still a historic season for the Chicago Rangers! I wouyld like to thank everyone for making it one of the most enjoyable seasons to watch and keep book of. Special thanks go to Tim, who guided us to a franchise best record of 23 and 4 in the regular season, Luke, who was a mastermind at GM and a wizard on the grounds Crew, and to everyone else who supported the team.

Thank you to all of our "rookies" this year who contibuted so much, Alonzo, Tony, Jody, and Big Jon all who could have been team MVP's. And who can forget my little brother, Dr. Nick Monroe, who provided the feistyness and youthful exuberance when we needed it.

We will be back next year, with the hunger for that CMBA Championship, and make next year even better than this year!

In a brief ceremony held at the mayor's office, Luecke was congratulated on a great season given best wishes for the upcoming CMBA championship against the Park Ridge Marlins.

Daley proclaimed today as Chicago Ranger Day and went on to say that "the Chicago Rangers can drink on me anytime as long as I am running this city."

Braves Manager Cox shows Rangers Brannon how to get tossed

Atlanta Braves Manager, Bobby Cox, became the all-time leader in ejections. Cox was tossed after the fifth inning Tuesday night, breaking John McGraw's record for career ejections. Rangers manager, Tim Brannon, acknowledged the feat and claimed that he still has plenty of time to catch up with the venerable Cox. He mentioned that the Rangers will be playing at Grosche Field next week and said that playing at Grosche has always fired him up. In fact he has the most ejections in his career at the Waukegan park. The last time he was thrown out of a game in Waukegan, Brannon insisted that the the dismissal was "the best call the ump made all game." With this type of attitude and Brannon's temper, there is no doubt that one day he will surpass Cox.

SWOMP is the new WOMP!

That’s right SWOMP not to be confused with SWAMP (beloved Ranger Matt Swary) has become the new official saying of the Chicago Rangers. It appears that the Rangers have not only accepted the change with open arms but they love it. Kevin Casey (the Rangers All-Star leadoff hitter) was asked what thought about the change to SWOMP and quickly responded (while leaning back and clapping), “Yeah, baby!” All-Star catcher Isaiah Panatsis backed SWOMP by stating with authority, “WOMP’s done, Son!” He continued on to say, “It’s all about SWOMP, sucka!” Isaiah did say that it wasn’t any easy decision for him to make and that he came to the decision after hours of praying and talking to God. “God spoke to me and told me this was the right thing to do, so anybody that’s not on-board with the change all I can say is…FUCK YO COUCH!” Rangers GM, Luke Luecke when asked about the change summed it up the best by saying, “I like it, I really do and here’s why…it’s the perfect blend and it just brings everything all together”. Having the Rangers GM (The CMBA’s GM of the Year) endorsing the change to SWOMP truly validates the change and makes it official. So, the next time you raise your glasses to cheers the Chicago Rangers remember to say it loudly and proudly, “SWOMP”!

Rangers Anger Norse Gods!

Thor, the Viking God of Thunder and War, brought the thunder and rain to Chicago in order to delay the Rangers from Advancing to the Second round of the CMBA Playoffs yesterday. Big Jon the Viking Slayer stole Thor's hammer and subsequently silenced the Viking Bats, holding them to 3 runs through 9 strong innings. Thor invoked his fellow divine compadre Loki, the god of mischief, to try and distract the Rangers on Saturday with Gio's Shots, which tasted less like 'tussin than ever before. Hilarity did ensue, but all Ranger players are safe and ready to take on the Norse Warriors again tonite at Taft High School.

Ranger Heavyweights Suspended for Drug Use

On the same day that the great Neifi "I play everyday because I have incriminating pictures of Dusty Baker" Perez was suspended for 80 games for his 3rd drug violation, the Rangers announced today that 6 foot, 160-pound Matt Brooks and his Puerto Rican twin, 6'1'', 150-pound, Chris Rivera have been suspended by team owner Lucas Luecke for performance enhancing drugs. Mr. Luecke said, " The organization is deeply saddened that we have to go through this the day before the playoffs, but this type of thing damages the integrity of the game." Team manager, Tim Brannon said that " They will be sorely missed. It is too bad they felt that they had to go to these measures to improve their performance on the field. " RIP River and Brooksie...Jody will definitley miss you.

Ranger Doubletakes, V

The White Sox media guide says two scouts discovered Mark Buehrle while he pitched at Jefferson Junior College in Missouri. The truth is a cab pulled up next to Buehrle as he walked home after a night of boozing and a disembodied voice said, "You're the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. Come with me tonight." Buehrle jumped in the cab to discover the voice belonged to Ron Schueler, White Sox GM at the time. The rest, as they say, is history.

4th Somewhat Annual Ranger BBBQ a Success!

Thank you to all the rangers who made the 4th Somewhat annual Ranger BBBQ (the extra "B" is for BYOBB) a success. We consumed about 35 sausages, 4.75 pounds of potato salad, all the jello, and enough beans to gas out a small village! Beer amounts cannot be confirmed, all i know is the garbage can was full of empties!

Isaiah won at ski-ball with a high score of around 2000, Tim dominated at bags, and Luke held down the pinball machine! Matt Brooks also ate 3 sausages, making him the sauage king of the playoff bound Rangers!

7/28 field and time change

Tomorrow's tilt against the Aviators has been pushed up to 5pm and moved to Southwest Park in Park Ridge, IL. The Rangers are 7-0 against the Aviators in CMBA history and come into tomorrow's game riding a team record 11 game winning history. The Rangers are expected to throw Kevin Casey and Tim Brannon.

Rangers break 20 wins for first time in history

For the first time in their history, the Chicago Rangers eclipsed the 20 win mark. This was a historic moment and was one of the goals put forth to the team by manager Tim Brannon at the beginning of the season. Although Brannon was thrilled about reaching this historic moment, he was rather displeased with other aspects of the Rangers season. "We haven't come close to our goal of drinking 300 pitchers this season," Brannon said after the game. Nevertheless, the season is still not over and with Saturday's game being a night game, that goal might still be within reach.

Even with the win last night, the Rangers are still trailing the Marlins by 3 points in standings, but are tied in the loss column. If both the Marlins and the Rangers win out, the Marlins will have to finish their tie with Daley Division leader, the Chicago Browns. The Marlins hold the tiebreaker with the Rangers as they took the season series 2-1.

The Rangers will finish off their regular season with games against the Aviators, Cubs, and the Mets. The Rangers will play their first game ever at Altgelt park on Saturday night against the Aviators.

It's time to play "Name That Ranger!"

Hell Freezes Over!!!

Hell has officially frozen over as Ranger Left Fielder Mike LaRocco was allowed to play the infield for the first time since 2001! " I would like to thank the Rangers for this great opportunity to play the infield, and am glad that my error only led to a handful of runs!" says LaRocco. The Rangers could not believe it when LaRocco came within an eyelash of turning a double play. Ranger first basemen Matt Swary stated "I was not expecting him to throw the ball, and when he did, i thought he was going to throw in his usual wild way, so i got ready to play goalie!" To everyone's amazement, the throw was indeed accurate. Lather in the inning, LaRocco did mishandle a throw to pick up the error, but he did cleanly field a groundball and successfully threw the runner out at first base. "It was weird to see the game from a different angle, i would like to thank Ranger Manager Tim Brannon for giving me this chance as he had previously said there was no chance in hell of me playing the infield!" said a happy Mike LaRocco.

The Long Awaited Updated Beer Count

It's been a while and I'm missing a number of receipts, but the Rangers have tallied the following beer stats:

On the 2007 campaign, the Chicago Rangers have drank 170 pitchers of beer and racked up a total bar tab of $2,331.17. That is an average of 9 pitchers and $116.56 per bar visit.

The Rangers are currently on pace to guzzle 272 pitchers and tally a total bar tab of $3,729.87!

New Stadium For the Rangers!

Even though the Chicago Rangers baseball club has played extremely well at venerable Winnemac Park, a new Stadium is planned for the North Side baseball team. Team General Manager Lucas Luecke said"With the Rangers improving every year, the Board of Directors feels that it is time to move the team into a more fan friendly arena." The team had drawn a record amount of fans to games this year, and a traditional baseball stadium with actual "seats" instead of the hill outside of Jordnt Foorball Stadium would let even more rabid Ranger fans watch the CMBA's most exciting team. "We may not always play the best baseball, but we will drink any team under the table!" states Ranger fan favorite Kevin Casey, "A new Stadium will definitely allow us to play better ball, and drink more beer!". Ranger assistant groundskeeper Mike LaRocco believes the new field will acknowledge the strong Ranger history at Winnemac Park, "The Entire infield from Winnemac will be transported to Ranger Stadium, complete with the sewer drains in left and right field, this will make the transition to Ranger Stadium even easier for the club!". Groundbreaking is expected within the next two years with an estimated completion date of 2013.
